Blogs for Educational Leaders
Educational Leaders can use blogs for two primary purposes that I see at this point. First, a blog would serve as an easily accessible, chronological record of their reflections on their work. Second, blogs provide an interactive way to establish relationships, share perspectives and feedback, and support learning within an electronic network.
Action Research

Both Dana (2009) and Harris, Edmonson & Combs (2010) do an excellent job of providing a clear definition of and a case for engaging in action research. I have always been reflective of my work in the classroom, but not nearly as systematic as I could have been. I appreciate being able to identify problems/curiosities that are relevant to me and my unique circumstances. Being able to be part of the solution and learning from my mistakes is very empowering and motivating. My initial “wondering” was in regards to the best way to support Tier II interventions across the district. I’m afraid I may have bitten off more than I can chew with such a broad topic, but already many smaller wonderings that could be a part of the larger one have come to mind. What is the best way to get intervention resources out to the campus? What training will be required to provide support to the teachers? How can we provide useful guidelines while allowing the campuses to identify their own needs within their unique circumstances? I hope to gain more insight as this course progresses. I believe in the process and am confident in being able to identify needs and conduct research. I am most interested in learning to gather data from multiple and varied sources. I hope that this blog will serve as a good record of my progress throughout this process.
